A lot of people have been reporting that the iPhone alarm has not been working during 2011. Many of those people who depend on the alarm slept in as a result.
A change over to standard time back on November caused similar problems, with the alarm not activating.
According to reports, the iPhone alarm will start working normally again by the 3rd of January. If you do not want to wait until that point there is a fix available;
1.Tap clock
2.Tap Edit
3.Tap your alarm
4.Tap repeat
5.Set an interval repeat
6.Tap save
A quick and simple fix, but as of tomorrow, the iPhone will have the alarm system working normally again anyway, so it hardly seems worthwhile bothering with the fix.
